Location
My back yard in the small town I live and grew up in. Everything I know I've taught myself, so every shot has some value or importantce to me.Time
I took this photo on a warm summer afternoon. I wanted to capture the way the light was falling on everything - and the good vibrations it brought.Lighting
I really wanted to show that anything can be beautiful. It's all about our perception. It may just be a weed, but if you take the time to look at it in the right light it becomes something else entirely.Equipment
This shot was taken with the only camera I have, Sony Digital Still Camera Cyber Shot 20.1 Mega Pixels DSC-H300. 35 X Optical Zoom Sony Lens 3,0-5, 9 / 4,5-157,5 No extra lenses, no tripod, no flash, no editing.Inspiration
I really wanted to portray that anything and everything in this Universe has a unique beauty - it just takes the right person, with the right eye to bring it out for the world to see. I was really inspired that something most people would find ugly and unwanted had such soft, light, beautiful characteristics.Editing
I really have not done very much editing before, this photo has no editing what so ever. Just recently I started teaching myself how to use the program GIMP in order to touch up some beautiful landscape shots I got.In my camera bag
Because I am new to this, honestly not much if I even have my bag at all! Typically I just put my camera strap around my neck and head out just like that. Considering I take mostly nature shots, I find the less equipment the better... if you really want to get into the feel of things and embrace what you are experiencing, less is always more! When I do have my bag though it only has a charger and extra batteries. I have a very basic camera so I don't have any extra lenses.Feedback
My friends and family keep telling me that I am an amazing photographer. It's hard for me to wrap my mind around this because I've always looked at things and thought "Oh wow, that's beautiful if you look at it just a certain way".. even as a child I can recall looking out the window capturing pictures with my mind. The reason it's hard for me to believe I am a "photographer" is because I TRULY believe anyone can take a beautiful photo, because the power of the photo lies within the perspective... and we ALL have a unique perspective. So I guess there is no real advice for capturing a great photo other than following your heart and creative eye. :)
