Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the backyard where the rainwater was collected. So I just took the advantage of that.

Time

It was in the evening when children were playing. So I just asked one of then to be my model.

Lighting

Lighting was perfect since it was the Golden hour.

Equipment

Shot on d90 with the kit lens 18-105 at the widest focal length of 18mm

Inspiration

I had the similar idea of levitation in my mind for long time. I just made some changes to that idea and result is here.

Editing

Yes, levitation always needs postprocessing. I used adobe Photoshop to stack the images and for color enhancements, light room.

In my camera bag

Nikon d90 has been there in my bag for a long time along with the kit lens 18-105mm. Plus I'm more into street photography so there's always a 50mm prime lens in my bag. You can also find some other accessories including a wireless remote, some ND filters, an extra memory card plus cleaning kit. It can be useful at times.

Feedback

Well, if you're particularly interested in trying some levitation, always think ahead of time and plan your shot in advance. Another important thing while trying levitation is that always do it in controlled environment. Since you'll be compositing two or more shots, make sure there will be no changes in any of the shots including lighting which needs to be the same. Also there must be no moving elements in levitation. Otherwise, keep on working on your creativity and you might end up with better than what you've planned.
