Behind The Lens

Location

This handsome guys photo was taken at the San Diego Zoo in Southern California.

Time

I think that this photo was taken in the morning hours. I patiently waited for him to come walking down his enclosure. I was so excited to see that I managed to get in my opinion this perfect shot of eyes wide open, his large paw fully visible and what I love the most his tongue partially out.

Lighting

This was a beautiful day in sunny Southern California, no clouds to be seen, a great sunny day nothing really more was needed.

Equipment

This shot was taken with my a Canon 70D with my lens EFS 55-250mm and a lot of patience.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this photo is so simple, I love big cats! I can watch these guys all day.

Editing

If I can remember right I did crop this photograph down a little bit and adjusted the coloring to bring out the tiger’s beautiful colors.

In my camera bag

I try to keep things light when I travel so in my bag was my Canon 70D and my 250mm lens. It’s not a great one for long distances but it can grab some exciting shots, lens cleaners, extra SD cards and a few Dr Peppers.

Feedback

My advise for taking a photo of this kind is to have a lot of patience and to love what you are photographing, it shows in your photos!
