Location
Leighton beach, Perth Australia 10 minutes from Fremantle. I was pretty stoked that i managed to get this photo.Time
This was a totally unplanned moment on the way home from work around 4:30pm, i decided to start taking my camera with me every chance i could and it payed off when i glanced this little guy/girl shooting up and down the beach.Lighting
I keep an eye out every afternoon and i managed to get a few more. He/She seems to only only come out on a bright sunny afternoon when there aren't any clouds. Either that or it was just a coincidence. >:)Equipment
My mate recommeded the Canon D60 as a good all rounder DSLR to help me get back into photography which turned out to be a little gem. I used a kit 55-250mm lens that came with the camera.Inspiration
this was a OMG! is that really a predator bird moment 10meters away while driving home... I love shooting photos of Australian wild life. especially predator birds they look so cool. O still can't believe my luck getting this shot. i have to admit i was grinning from ear to ear after taking these shots.Editing
nothing really i think?, i just cropped the photo because there was so much blue sky in the shot.In my camera bag
At the moment i take my canon D60 with the kit lens's that came with my camera a 18-55m & a 55-250 plus i just purchased a 35mm prime f/2.0. all 3 are pretty sweet. A spare battery and memory stick just encase and cleaning gear. I also have a 85mm f1.8mm which i need to use more but i'm learning so i haven't used it as much. I figure i will change to a 18 - 200 or 250mm once the kits lens's have run there course just because i won't have to swap them out so much.Feedback
Keep your gear with you when ever you get the chance if you can even if you don't feel like it or think you won't get time to go for a shoot. I think you tend to put yourself in a mindset to keep an eye out for a good shot when you know you have your gear with you. I have had days where i managed to get some really nice photos when i completley didn't expected it like this one.
