Behind The Lens
Location
This photo was taken at Gibraltar in Wilmington, DE. I simply take pictures of whatever catches my eye. It's become a part of my daily life over the past two years. I'm amazed at how many fascinating places, buildings, gardens and sights are all around me. You can drive past the same place every day, but it's the day you stop, look around and just start taking pictures, that you find some hidden gems.Time
I was wanting to get back to this spot for a while and I don't live in the area any more. It was early afternoon on a cloudy & drizzly day. I took a chance however and got some cool pictures. A father was there with his two children taking pictures as well. It's always great to see a fellow photographer out and about no matter the weather.Lighting
The lighting was a bit tough with this one since it was a cloudy day.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D5000.Inspiration
I wanted to capture the deep plum purple of the lily pads.Editing
I usually play with some post-processing options and did with this one. I'm still experimenting and learning. In my camera bag
I carry my camera bag with me almost everywhere I go - even on my lunch breaks. My camera and a telephoto lens (55-200mm) are all I'm carrying with me now. It's enough as I'm having fun and playing around with my style of photography.Feedback
Just go out there, no matter what the weather is like and take pictures of what captures your eye. Shoot from different angles and have fun.
