Location
I took this photo at a wedding in Kelowna, BC. The wedding itself was fairly small, and the location was a plain fish and game club, but it had been decorated with this giant backdrop behind the head table.Time
After the majority of the wedding reception had occurred, the dancing begun. While I was watching people dance on the dance floor I was trying to line up a perfect shot. A couple of the girls began dancing on the small platform behind the head table and so I got them to recruit a few more girls up there!Lighting
I exposed this shot for the lighting, increasing my shutter speed so that everyone was a silhouette.Equipment
I use a Canon 6D and a 24-70 2.8. I use a lot of off camera flash in my work but this photo had the setup for a great natural shot.Inspiration
I loved how all the girls just let their hair loose and danced like no one was watching! What a better way to show how much fun your wedding was!Editing
Yes, I lowered my blacks, increased the clarity and contrast. In my camera bag
Two Canon 6ds, a 24-70 2.8 and a 70-200 2.8, two canon speed lights, two light stands and Phottix Odin transmitter/receivers. LOTS of batteries!Feedback
Shoot for the moment but don't be afraid to get right in there and mold your shot a little.
