Behind The Lens
Location
This photograph was taken in a garden after a storm.Time
It was around the afternoon, when the storm ended and the clouds started to move away from the sun, so that the lighting was not too dark.Lighting
It lighting is all natural, however because it was after a storm, the strength of the sun was weak therefore some of the clouds are reflected in the water droplet.Equipment
Camera: Canon 400D - it is a quiet old camera however it really does the magic. Lens: 15-55 mm I didn't use any more equipment than the camera and the lens as I was just trying to shoot some test shots when this photograph happened and even though it was just a sample, I love it and I am so proud of it.Inspiration
I recently saw an post about photographers shooting after a storm and how they use the weather and the water as their main subject. It was the perfect timing so I decided to try it out and it actually came out pretty good.Editing
For this particular photograph, I didn't. I saw how the photo looked and I wanted to leave it raw to show that sometimes even without editing or retouching, the magic of nature can look breathtaking. In my camera bag
Right now I am using a camera bag from Canon, and normally I have my small camera body, the lens (usually the 18-55 mm one as I use this most of the times), my 2 batteries ( you can never be too prepared), SD card holder with at least 2 cards, my flash and my filter lenses in case I want to create some reflections of the sun light. This is of course the basics when I don't have a particular idea in mind however if I am shooting for something more specific than my bag will be full with accessories.Feedback
You should consider the weather. I got lucky with this shot as it was after storm however if you live in a country with not too much rain, you could also recreate these water droplets by spraying the plant with water. The weather is also important as it will decide what is reflected in the droplet. You will also need to try different angles to see where the light hits the water and also how you want your plant to look. Make sure that if you select a certain angle that the background is also connected to the rest of the photograph, like if you are shooting a bush on the street, make sure that the background will not be the concrete of the road but the rest of the bush to make the whole image more green and about nature.
