I am not normally a fan of mixed color/black and white images. However, whether intentional or not, i see this photo as symbolic of a once highly endangered animal that has survived, only to have the wilderness environment that has supported it become endangered and fading away. i know, reading way too much into an image that is not even my own. great image, regardless

Hi John. You have read this picture correctly. The bison is a magnificent animal when you see it up close. There are few wild habitats left for bison. However, through the use of habitats, their fear numbers are growing. I have a number of pictures of bison herds. On this shoot. We were on this Zepeda Montoya bison ranch near the great Sand dunes National Park. There were two herds of 40,000 bison on this working ranch. This was an exciting shoot. We got to rome out through the herds photographing from an international harvester carryall truck. Thank you for looking in on my work. Larry
