Behind The Lens

Location

This photo is a favourite of mine it was taken in Miami Beach in May 2015 one of the best locations I've ever been too and a great place for wonderful photograph opportunities.

Time

It was about 11am on a Wednesday morning whilst everyone was at work, I was cooling off in the ocean whilst the sun was beaming as it was far too hot to sit on the beach, all my sunbathing had to be done in the water, for me anyway as I'm not the norm I have never been one for sitting directly in the sun, I tend to hide in the shadows, so the ocean was the perfect place to stay cool.

Lighting

It was a beautiful day but occasionally you would get some very dramatic clouds this made good for the perfect photograph

Equipment

This picture was captured with an underwater coolpix camera, it allows you to take it into the ocean with you, taking pictures as you swim and bath in the sea, one of my best purchases ever, it's bright yellow too so if I accidentally drop it I can see it in the water, although it does have a strap which I wrap round my arm, I can't be losing my favourite camera.

Inspiration

I was just floating taking in the scenery around me, I jus happened to move one of my legs when I saw the shot emerge before my very eyes and I knew where I was going with this, I had also been concerned that being quite far out I was possible shark bait and this inspired the title!

Editing

After taking the picture I added a touch of HDR this emphasised the clouds and brought out the rippling and shadows within the water

In my camera bag

Whenever I go somewhere where there is possible water, the coolpix comes with me, but I do take alot of photos with my I phone 6, for some reason it seems to have taken over from all other cameras I own, most shots are from the phone now and I will have a big camera round my neck which tends to be for show, this shows photography is changing as it it just so easy now to take a perfect shot and upload within seconds, no more waiting until your home and with some apps one in particular I use, you can post edit some shots to make it more your own style and I do have my own type of style for photography, always looking for the darker side of the image within its beauty almost enchanting.

Feedback

Wherever you are look at the world like a photography catalogue, everything around you can be beautiful, I see the world differently now and I'm always on the look out for my next shot, which can come out the blue you just suddenly see it, no matter were I go I will find the shot, I look forward to visiting places I have never been to wondering what I will capture and then sharing it with the world to see, I captured a picture recently of a lizard who had passed on which was sad, but in My shot he will live on forever.
