I created this portrait for a uni project where I was looking into the effects of oil spills... In response I covered my subject in paint to give the impression of oil to try mimic the animals you often see effected by the oil. I wanted there to be a shock tacit, making the viewer think, would I react differently-care more if it were people suffering from the spills rather than animals.
