This photo was taken in my studio located in Salado, TX. This was shot with natural light on my bean bag. This was one of my favorite shots from the whole session. He was an amazing baby that slept like a champ!Time
This shot was taken around noon. It was such a beautiful day & the natural light was amazing! I got a ton of awesome shots that day.Lighting
Awesome natural light is hard to come by sometimes but not that day! Every shot seemed to be exactly what I was going for! Don't you just love those days?!?!Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D600 with a Tamron 28-75 attached. No other equipment was involved.Inspiration
I had just gotten done with the chin on hands pose & just sort of laid him over into the "timber" pose & couldn't get over how the light was hitting him & how relaxed & calm he looked.Editing
I basically have the same routine for all my photos. I open up Photoshop CC & open the photo. I corrected white balance & exposure & then ran portraiture on his skin. Next I go back & remove any blemishes & flaky skin. Then I ran my own B&W action. I adjusted that to my liking & flattened the image. In my camera bag
I carry a Kelly Moore Libby bag & it's packed to the max. I carry a Nikon D600, Nikon D7100, Tamron 28-75mm, Tamron 85mm, Nikon 35mm, Nikon 50mm, Nikon 60mm, 2 speed lights, extra batteries, chargers, and my grey card.Feedback
In order to capture an amazing photo of a baby you need to have a ton of patience! I can't stress how important it is to just go with the flow of the baby. If they don't want to be wrapped, leave them unwrapped. If they want to be on their side, let them be on their side. Not all babies are going to love every pose. Some will truly dislike a pose & that's fine. Work with what they like & you'll be much happier with the shots you get.
