Location
This photo was taken out in kona on the big island of Hawaii at a beach called kohanaiki but the the people from their we know it as pines.Time
This was taken around 9:40pmLighting
The lighting was all natural the main source being the lights from the town and the starsEquipment
I used a Nikon D5500 with the 18-55 kit lense and a generic tripod that I bought for a few dollars.Inspiration
My inspiration mainly came from a friend of mine Keoni who's also a photographer he took an amazing picture on the top of Mauna Kea and I wanted to try and replicate it but from the beach instead.Editing
I did some pretty basic editing afterwards mostly with the sharpness but I did mess with the brightness and the highlights to try and bring out the stars a little more.In my camera bag
As of right now I don't have a bag or much equipment it's just my camera that I wear on my neck and the tripod I use nothing special I have no other lenses or filters but I am working with what I have till I can buy myself a bag and some other odds and endsFeedback
The main thing I would recommend to anyone trying to capture a similar picture to mines it to pay attention the the silhouettes of the trees and tall standing structure it things this can really help give the picture a sense of depth more than just a plain long exposure of the stars, another thing if the lighting in the photo comes out weird and theirs lots of unwanted light don't freak out try and work with it, adjust the settings on your camera change angle, and be open to new styles. The orange light that appears in my photo was completely unintentional I had wanted just the stars and the tree originally but thanks to that small addition this has become one of my favorite photos and well liked amongst others too.
