Location
This photo was taken in a small rented studio in St Louis, MO. This photo shoot was my project for a photography class at Lindenwood University.Time
This photo was taken around evening. When my model and I came to a studio we were terrified, because instead of 4 lights only one was available. I remember looking around trying to find something to use as a reflector. I was so relieved when my model told me that she has a huge sketch book with her that I could borrow for a time, it was the most complicated and funniest evening of my life.Lighting
As I mentioned before, we had a problem with lighting. For this particular photo, I used the only available softbox with a really weak bulb in it and three pages from my mode's sketch book to reflect the light.Equipment
This was shot on Canon 7D with 50mm lens and a softbox. No other equipment was usedInspiration
In this series, I wanted to show how beautiful and strong this particular model. She had self-doubts and scary experience in a past, so I wanted to show her through this series that she can still be strong even if fate was not on her side.Editing
For this particular photo, I changed only couple things. First I made it black and white, and I added more shadow for more dramatic look.In my camera bag
I don't usually have a lot of equipment in my bag. It is usually my camera, 50mm lens, extra memory cards and a reflector ( which I forgot to take with me for that shoot).Feedback
There is no right or wrong way to take a photo like this. It was totally freestyled lighting and pose. I think if people want to take photos like this they need to look at their environment and a model and see how they can show her beauty without over doing it.
