Location
This photo was taken at a historic site near Lake Quinault in Olympic National Forest.Time
Sometime around 1pm.Lighting
I wasn't really paying too much attention to the lighting when I took it. But looking back, the sun was behind me and resting softly on the front of the truck, and that is what really gave the photo it's shadows and contrast.Equipment
I took this photo with my IPhone 5s, before I had any type of precessional camera.Inspiration
I actually wasn't "feeling it" when I saw this torn-up truck on the trail we were hiking. I was more interested in the old prairie houses and wooden fences of the historical site, and I didnt want to waste any phone space on something I wasn't interested in. But, when I saw how much my mother liked the truck, I decided to snap a few pictures and see how they work out.Editing
It was edited with the "Tonal" filter of the photo app that comes with IPhones. In my camera bag
Now I bring my Nikon camera with me when I go hiking, but I still bring my IPhone just in case. Sometimes IPhones can get an angle or a perspective that professional cameras just can't get. And every once in a while it's nice to get away from the super high definition cameras we have now, and get back to simply taking a photo.Feedback
Just take the shot! Even if you think it won't work out, or you're not particularly excited about a certain object, just see what happens when you get a picture of it. I almost passed up the chance to take one of my most popular photos, all because I didn't want to take any bad ones. As a photographer, you need to willing to take bad photos or ones you end up deleting afterwords. Because sometimes when your not paying attention or just don't care, that's when you'll get your best shot.
