I took this photo at my dad's home, it was a new place. They had recently adopted a new puppy and I couldn't wait to get over there and see her. I thought she was so precious I couldn't help but take pictures of her.Time
It was early afternoon, I remember we were sitting outside the sun was bright not to many clouds around. She was trying to play with everything and anything she could get her paws on and so I just followed her around and started taking photos. I couldn't help myself.Lighting
I enjoyed how soft the lighting appeared, I was using a new lens that really helped with that.Equipment
I was using a Nikon D3100, No flash just natural light, and a 50mm lensInspiration
I just got my new lens and really wanted to test it out. With my dad just adopting a new puppy (Bella) I couldn't wait to see her. I know that puppies grow really fast and she just had the sweetest little face that I couldn't help myself I wanted to capture her and her expressions.Editing
For this image I did not adjust that much. I adjusted a little bit of the lighting in photoshop just to get a nice balance and then made it black and white. In my camera bag
My camera bag is still growing and new to me. I have one camera body a Nikon D3100, a few lenses a standard 18-55mm, 50mm, and a 35mm. I also have an attachable flash and the Gary Fong collapsible diffuser. Other things I sometimes have on my person are some reflectors and a film camera.Feedback
I think with animals it can get hard because they don't always stand still or want to be posed. So my suggestion would be just take photos every chance you get because you never know when they will make that perfect expression or you capture their true personality. I also thinks it helps to have them in their element so they feel comfortable and confident. Bella is a very energetic little pup and some photos were blurred or she has her eyes closed, etc but it was a great time out in the yard working on get that perfect image of her.
