Behind The Lens

Location

I took this image at our local park. It is a beautiful park called Buhl Park.

Time

It was taken in late summer...in the evening.

Lighting

I wanted this image to be majestic...I wanted it to bring out the innocence of this child. We went to a wooded area and got into the grassest place she was telling me a story and then I captured this image. The lighting and landscape was perfect.

Equipment

This image was shot using a Nikon D5200, 18-55mm lens. No flash or other equipment was used.

Inspiration

Families and children are my absolute favorite to photograph. I, especially, like the toddler stage they have stories for days and just coming into their personalities so for me I was thrilled when her Mom called me to do her birthday session. The images are all very inspiring and unique.

Editing

I did very little post-processing. I touched up some trees and gave it some vignette.@

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon and 2 lens (18-55mm & 55-200mm). I also carry my external flash. I carry my Cannon T3i.

Feedback

I think if you have a plan...fulfill it. Set your mind to it. Show the child what you want. If you are on the ground talking with your feet in the air, have them tell you a story. Go from there. The possibilities are endless.
