Location
I took this photo in Elora Ontario Canada. This bridge is beside a large old mill. It is a well visited town that has a beautiful gorge after the small waterfall and a beautiful swimming hole called Elora Gorge.Time
This photo was taken mid day and the light was just right. I love the clouds reflected in the water.Lighting
It was a few hours before magic hour but the natural light was perfect for this shot.Equipment
I used my old camera a Canon Rebel xTi with a Sigma 18 to 50 2.8 macro lens. I was shooting in AV mode.Inspiration
I was shooting all over town this day and I have always loved this water way. The reflections of the bridge and the old stores and the clouds always blow me away. I also love the orange bobbers in the water that are a warning of the falls ahead.Editing
I made the photo a little darker and added just a touch of contrast. In my camera bag
I have a Canon 7D and a Canon Rebel xTi that I carry most of the time. My lenses are a Canon 50mm 1.8, a Canon 85mm 1.8, a Sigma 18-50 2.8 Macro lens and a Canon 70-200 2.8. Just in case. I also carry a flash and lens cloths and 10 CF Cards.Feedback
This type of shot can be taken by checking your histogram and making sure you don't have too much light. I like darker shots with better definition. I took a lot of photos before this day to get this shot. My advise for everyone is shoot as much as possible know your camera and don't be afraid to try new things and angles. I think I have a definite way to get my favorite composiions.
