I took this photo st the goodguys car show in Joliet il. At the Speedway. A thunderstorm cane through and cleared out just about everyone there. I stayed because I saw how cool the clouds looked. And I live the way cars look when they are wet.Time
Was taken in late afternoon.Lighting
I wanted to capture the scope and beauty of the storm clouds as well as how great the car was light through the defusing of light from the clouds.Equipment
I just happened to be using my cheap back up camera and kit lens. It was a Nikon 3100. Handheld. No flash.Inspiration
I was taking photos of cars all day. But once I saw the cloud formation and saw how cool everything looked. I has to try to capture the beauty.Editing
Yes. I used light room for a bit of light correction and contrast. In my camera bag
This photo was taken with a backup Nikon. I rarely carry it. But I was letting my friend use my canon. Usually at a car show I carry light. A Canon 6d. A 50mm prime and a small zoom lense. A circular polarizer too that I rarely use. I also carry a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod. If I think I'll be shooting into the night.Feedback
Just shoot with what you have. Make use of angles with cars. I tend to shoot from low. And get a nice sky or cool background. It's sometimes hard in a car show setting with all the people and other cars around. Stay late and wait for cars to start leaving. That's when I get the best shots.
