This photo was taken in rural Idaho near the Bear Lake area (close to the Utah border). My friend Laura was visiting from Atlanta and we were heading to Grand Teton National Park when we passed this fascinating relic. It was fenced off with no trespassing signs, so I wasn't able to get any closer to it than this, but I hope that I was able to capture the eerie somnolence and brooding feel of this structure. For me part of the fascination is for what this building used to be. Was it a home? A church? It has the feel of both. I tried to research the structure, and even asked a couple of locals (on a later trip), none of whom were able to clue me in. What do you think? Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photo...
