This picture was taken December 6th, 2014. I pressed the shutter-release with the full intention to capture the beautiful silhouettes of the caroler seen in the foreground. While revisiting pictures from the trip the next day, I finally noticed the stark and mesmerizing contrast of the red umbrella being held by a fellow bystander trying to evade the downpours. Even unedited, I still find this picture to be one of my favorite shots and a fond memory from my very first trip to New York City.
