it was a bright day but this was taken in a semi-shaded area.Equipment
I used a Canon 70d and the lens was a 100mm-400mm mk2 lens, I was there taking images of birds.Inspiration
this man and his companion approached me asking what I was taking pictures of. I explained that I was there on a wildlife shoot. then I looked again at this man and could see the potential for a portrait shot, which is not normally on my agenda. I asked if I could take a couple of shots and he agreed. this was the shot that I liked the best.Editing
I just processed it in lightroom and came up with a result that I liked, just experimenting.In my camera bag
I go out with one purpose, I decide what I am looking for and just take the particular lens for that purpose. if I get it wrong, tough, tomorrow is another day.Feedback
expect the unexpected. I wasn't expecting to be taking a portrait but I worked with it and got the result, I think.
