Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was clicked at Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India. I was in a party held in the backyard of a restaurant. I was just having my drink and at the same moment i noticed the campfire. So, what next, I took my Nikon D5200 and clicked this shot with some manual settings. My teacher is my camera. I am more into capturing the street moment and candid shots in this world. I just roam around with my camera and learn.

Time

I clicked this shot at around 9:00 PM when there is dark in the sky and campfire lets us enjoy the music. People were into dancing and music, and I was getting my epic collection.

Lighting

Lighting was not that much because it was a campfire party, so the only light which is there is from the flares which i captured. It was night.

Equipment

I shot this from Nikon D5200 with 18-55 mm lens; no tripod or any other accessory.

Inspiration

The first thing in my mind was to take a good low light photo and the second was the different famous flame click by the famous photographers. I wanted to click that flame in that form in which i was looking at it.

Editing

No post-processing over this image. I is just JPEG click.

In my camera bag

Till now, as a beginner and Amateur, I travel with the camera body like Nikon D5200 and the 18-55 mm lens and 18-105 mm lens.

Feedback

If a person is clicking a flame shot, then he/she,majorly, has to play with aperture and shutter speed settings. Shutter speed with make the flame shot still and the candid shot will be awesome. ISO plays the role for the light sensitivity. Aperture should be managed according to the field lights, as if the lights are much then it should be narrow for flame shot in night. This shot has a wide aperture settings like f/5.3, to capture the provided light. Flame shot should be tried with different settings for changing the flame colors.
