Location
This was taken at one of the Pueblos in New Mexico during a school trip from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, N.M. to one of the feasts. We had just arrived and were getting our wits about where we were going, we were all art students on a field trip. I can not say which pueblo it was to protect their privacy.Time
The time of day was late morning as a storm system was approaching, we were on the outskirts of whirlwind that was passing nearby. We were gathering our appetites before we set out to the houses. There was a coolness in the air, mixed in with the heat of late summer and early autumn.Lighting
Thunder heads were rolling in and the wind was pushing clouds of dust everywhere, I thought it was a unique cool tone, darker shade for a backdrop at that moment in time.Equipment
I used my Galaxy S8 Android phone to take this photograph.Inspiration
There was an aura of light that seemed to follow these girls from the time we left the school campus and it radiated even brighter when they were in the pueblo ready to go to the feast. Their energy and excitement was contagious and everyone who came with them and us was happy, full of love and hungry. We arrived, then stopped to gather in the small group of us art students. We were checking our packs and patiently waiting on each other before we left our motorcade of cars behind to start walking into the pueblo. I remember there were intense amounts of laughing, love, excitement, anticipation of who and what we were going to see. This was a totally new experience for these girls who I think were from the Wisconsin, area so, I decided to capture that moment.Editing

I did not think that this photograph was going to attract so much attention. So, don't underestimate your skill levels or eye for perception. Learn to share photos that you particularly don't think are all that great, but are crisp. The world may love your work that you may not have taken seriously at the time. Just cause I didn't think this photograph was all that interesting, didn't mean that the world felt the same way about it.
