I took this photo on small island in the Pacific Northwest corner of the U.S. It's where I grew up, and on this particular day I was standing in the water looking down at the changing light and movement over the stones. I'm happy I was able to capture the beauty of what I was experiencing.Time
This was taken mid-day, at the beginning of summer.Lighting
The play between light dancing directly overhead and the movements of water created the shadows and designs on the rocks that made this photo so dreamy. I was able to capture it by waiting patiently for the right pattern to be made.Equipment

I put a filter on it, I believe one of the Instagram pre-sets. Then bumped the light a little to recreate the contrast I originally saw.In my camera bag

Always carry something, whether a phone or small slr camera, to take a photo quickly, as the moments appear. Images like these change by the second, so I like to be prepared...
