I took this photo on my son's sixth birthday. There is a beautiful creek in a metro park five minutes from our house and it seemed like the perfect place to capture a few special photos of him and his little sister.Time
This photo was taken at about 11 am. We could hear thunder in the distance but there was no rumor of rain that day. Out of nowhere the sky turned black and we got stuck in a torrential downpour. We had to run under the trees for cover and we were laughing so hard!Lighting

It was my sons sixth birthday and this summer he became completely fascinated with fireflies. I thought that creating something magical would be a great way to not only celebrate his birthday, but also help him remember the year that he started capturing fireflies in a jar the way that every child should do! Its completely magical and we let them go after we watch them glow for a minute!Editing
My post processing involved lots of dodging, burning, selective color layers, lens flairs, and much more work in photoshop. I primarily edit in photoshop so I can manipulate color and light. My children are completely fascinated with this photo as it reminds them of summer magic and I am grateful we live in a world where it is possible to create these things on a computer.In my camera bag
