1980 off the coast of Iran (hostage crisis) Persian Gulf I took 2 B&W pictures of my ship sailing back to safe areas of the world. I, having a critical skill, stayed with the relieving ship, cross-decking from the USS LaSalle to the USS Coronado. Last look at 700 sailors I had lived with, worked with, and become friends for 9 months.
