The Winslow-Lindbergh Regional Airport is a tanker base for fire fighting airplanes. The RJ-85 is adapted from the BAE-146 passenger jet that was used extensively in commuter service in the 1980's and 90's. June is usually the busiest part of the wild fire season in Arizona. This jet is being re-fueled and re-loaded with fire retardant. In the background is the historic hanger that was built in 1929 for Transcontinental Air Transport (TAT) which was the first coast-to-coast transportation in the U.S.
