Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo from a side street in Bethnal Green, central London.Time
It was about 1pm in the afternoon when I took this photo.Lighting
It was a bright day so I underexposed, to balance out the highlights and preserve the cast shadows.Equipment
I used a Canon power shot G10, attached to an aerial mast extended to about 15 Meters.Inspiration
I was initially taking some roof photos for a building survey. I realised I was in position, for a good view of the city's skyline. When I swung into position for the skyline. With London's prominent buildings on show. By chance I was positioned to line up with the winding path that runs through the park and heads of in the direction of the skyline.Editing
I did do some to convert to black and white, and make some other minor adjustments to shadows, I can't remember exactly. I would have used the photos app on my old Asus notebook. In my camera bag
I normally carry a Panasonic GH4 with a 14-140mm and a 25mm f1.4. the Canon G10, a DJI Phantom 3 pro. A tripod and my Panasonic Lumix DMC-CM1 camera phone, oh and filters 10 stop and three graduated neutral density filters, and a polarising filter. Oh and also a Nissin i40 flash.Feedback
Go against the grain and expose more left than to the right for histogram. And think rule of thirds and leading lines and/or curves. Also look for an elevated perspective.
