Location
This picture was taken on Tremone beach, near Moville, County Donegal, IrelandTime
It was late afternoonLighting
It had been a sunny day, but by the time I got to the beach, sea mist had started rolling in, making the lighting a bit dullEquipment
My good old Nikon D3200 ofcourse!Inspiration
My main interest was to befriend the dog, I am a big dog lover, as they sense you like them and sometimes become very easy to work with. This particular dog, Irene, lives in a house above the beach and seems to love going to for a run and a swim. Coming to people when they ignore her running away when they try to get near is normal behaviour for Irene, it's very funny. So, I ignored her for a good while, until she lay right down in front of me. Once down, she seemed to relax and I started talking to her. She stayed where she was. Unbelievable, but in her non-verbal language it was like she 'allowed' me to photograph her and she was posing and putting on this sentimental look. After a few minutes she had enough and left. I'm so glad she gave me the opportunity to capture her best side!Editing
Due to the dull light, Irene's coat did not look as vibrant on the photo as it did when I see her myself. I added a little vibrancy. No need to do anything else.In my camera bag
My trusted Nikon D3200, a UV lens, a 4-point star filter, wide angle lens and 3 back-up battery packs. And a microfibre cloth for cleaning purposes.Feedback
Be nice to animals, especially dogs and try to understand their behaviour so as to decide how and when to get them at their best.
