Location
I got this picture in one of our local cemeteries. It is amazing to me of how many different types of birds are in our local cemeteries. When I am quiet and patient, there are numerous opportunities to capture them.Time
This shot was taken in the late afternoon on my way home from work. Photography is a great way for me to unwind and relax after a hectic day.Lighting
I was fortunate enough to be shooting in a shady place so the light diffused wonderfully. Cemeteries offer lots of shady areas that help difuse bright sunlight.Equipment
I shot this using a Nikon D3200 with a Nikor 55/300 zoom lens with a uv filter.Inspiration
I am always on the lookout for birds to take photographs of, especially owls. When I saw this opportunity my heart almost jumped from my chest. I had to calm myself so I wasn't shaking becaus I shot this without a tripod.Editing
The post editing that I did for this photograph was cropping with just a touch of exposure adjustment. In my camera bag
A 18/300 Nikor and a 55/300 Nikor lens along with a wide assortment of filters. I usually like to have my tripod handy also.Feedback
Get out and keep taking pictures. Practice, practice, practice and patience, patience, patience. It is kind of like fishing. If you go out to enjoy nature instead of focusing on catching fIsh, you will never be disappointed. Always keep your eyes open for an opportunity. They are everywhere.
