Behind The Lens

Location

This pboto was taken in Ilocos Norte, Philippines during my family's summer vacation. The islets are called Dos Hermanos.

Time

Taken during sunset. Its low tide at that time thus, it gave me a foreground because the rocks are above the water.

Lighting

Its cloudy during that day. But the the far horizon had bright light making it a good shot for black and white due to contrast in lighting.

Equipment

This shot was taken with a canon 7D attached with an UWA lens of 10-22 mm, and a Lee soft edge graduated neutral density filter in front. The camera is mounted on a sturdy Benro scorpion tripod.

Inspiration

Whenever, I go on out of town vacation, I always look for a good spot to appreciate sunset and sunrise. And I always have my camera to freeze that beautiful moment in time.

Editing

The photo was post processed with Lightroom and photoshop to basically enhance the contrast and sharpening.

In my camera bag

I'm more of a landscape photographer. I always have my Canon 7D camera, 10-22mm and 24-70 mm lens, my filters, tripod and trigger remote control packed with me.

Feedback

Always be ready with your equipment and be early on the location that you want to shoot. Don't be frustrated if the light you expected does not show up. Be creative in taking your shot.
