Behind The Lens

Location

I went to The Falconry Centre on Kidderminster Road South, Hagley, DY9 0JB. This centre is located behind Webbs Lifestyle Gardening Leisure off A456 Birmingham Road. I came across as the owl was just waking up and got my lens whereby the full view just captured owl looking directly albeit sleepy. Right time and place for me learning animal photography.

Time

I came in from garnering centre getting some excellent images and then came across the Falconry Centre within. This was a bright clear day around 1:00 pm buzzing with activity.

Lighting

I did not want to get exposed to too much light. Because the glare would impede the clarity. I got into position where direct sunlight did not affect image and also the brightness around gave a clear view.

Equipment

My normal camera and myself being very still in the moment. No flash required. Macro lens would have been addition useful.

Inspiration

I love photography for its sake. I captured one of many events that deserve capturing and sharing in the moment. The owl or other subjects are the main focus and really makes the images exciting and memorable.

Editing

I have not done any post processing.

In my camera bag

Have DSLR camera with two extra lens and macro lens. Have tripod on trips for outdoors. Carry high quality mobile camera also.

Feedback

Simply notice and be aware. Become part of the scene also as an observer and enjoy what you are doing. Personally believe a photography (like a director)does not need to do too much the scenes are all around us and the people, animals, events, atmosphere around us just waiting to be captured in that moment. Yes it was quite a struggle for me to crouch and get into awkward position but I let the subject be themselves and happy to get the capture and enjoy long afterwards. Somethings the images and places come to the seeker. Oh find someone else who loves photography and exploring as you do.
