Behind The Lens

Location

This was actually taken in the kitchen at my house. I'd been chasing my son around with the camera, catching nothing but blurs. The fates aligned, he stopped moving, and we got this great shot!

Time

It was right around noon, if i remember correctly. The windows were open, so we had some nice natural light coming through.

Lighting

You can't overstate how important it is. I never use flash, so I've become pretty familiar with my settings. I do a lot of low-lit basement concert photography, which can get pretty trying when you're working with the lighting on hand.

Equipment

I'm pretty new to photography. I'm currently using a Canon Rebel T5, and almost always use a 50 mm lens.

Inspiration

I was gifted a cery photogenic child, so finding the inspiration is easy. I just like catching him in his day-to-day moments. I've always been a big fan of candid shots.

Editing

Really just some minor contrast adjustments. Photo manipulation can be incredible and beautiful, but I've always enjoyed pure looking shots the most.

In my camera bag

The bare essentials. Charger, lens cleaner, and two backeup lenses. The 18-55mm that came with the body, and a 75-300mm if I want to get some really close shots without being a pest to the performers.

Feedback

Always be taking photos. Like I said earlier, I'm big on candids, and you never know when you might get that perfect shot. My camera goes with me everywhere.
