Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in downtown Saranac lake, NY.

Time

I was taking a long midnight walk around the town of Saranac lake during the winter.

Lighting

I chose a Black and White filter to bring out the light more around the snow and the snowflakes attached to the lampposts, It really brought more light to the buildings brightening them up a bit.

Equipment

This photo was shot on my Nikon D3200

Inspiration

I took the photo right after a winter storm, the snowbanks were piled high by the sidewalks and there was no one around so there was absolute quiet, it was so peaceful and serene i knew i had to capture the image so that I could remember that day forever.

Editing

I put the photo in black and white because I thought it would capture the quiet of the town after a snowstorm it gave it an old time look, and it brought out the lighting on the buildings more.

In my camera bag

I'm a beginner photographer and I haven't had the money to buy any extra equipment so for right now I only have my Nikon D3200 and one lens.

Feedback

You have to have a lot of patience to capture the right moment it takes a lot of practice, and you have to get to know your camera better.
