Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my sisters back yard after a short road trip. Lily sat and watched the squirrels run on the fence, quite fascinated as she hadn't seen squirrels before.

Time

This was taken around 1130am just as the sun was hitting it's peak.

Lighting

I enjoy shooting when there is a slight shadow or if the sky is slightly overcast as it gives me awesome depth in my pictures.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS 40D and had my sigma 150mm macro lens on as I was taking pictures of the flowers in my sisters gardens.

Inspiration

I turned away from the flower gardens and she looked so serene and regal sitting and watching that I just had to take her picture.

Editing

I enhanced the shadowing by putting a vignette filter on the shot.

In my camera bag

I typically have 2 lenses aside from my stock lens in my camera bag...a macro 150mm and a zoom lens.

Feedback

Patience is something I have learned to have when taking pictures and you should never be afraid to take as many shots as you feel are needed to get the perfect picture.
