Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on Rubicon Farm where we do Jet Boating for our Alpine Safari Tour. I took this photo 24hrs after taking another my first shot of this tree but in Fine Weather and with sheep in the paddock behind.

Time

It would have been taken around 11.30-12 noon as I was heading down to the river to do the Jet Boat Trip but alas it was snowing to hard for the jet boat to go.

Lighting

Not as this time as again I was just looking to see what it would be like to see it covered with snow.

Equipment

I was using a Canon PowerShot SX50 HS which has a fixed Lens ( 24-1200 35mm equiv / 4.3-215.0mm ) but on auto as I was just starting to get back into photography. Now my wife is using this camera and enjoying taking photos as well.

Inspiration

Having taken the photo yesterday of this same tree when it was fine, I thought it would be good to see what it would look like being snowed on 24hrs later, and I tried to get in in much the same place.

Editing

No as I didn't know anything about that at the time.

In my camera bag

I have in my bag now an EOS 50D with a Cannon Zoom Lens EF 24-105mm 1.4 L and a EF 28-90mm 1:4-5.6 II on a EOS KissX2 Cannon Camera. I also carry a Tamron SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Lens. I do have a tripod as well and a HOYA 62mmPL-CIR Filter and last but not least, I do have my cannon book to look up when doing some experiments with my photography.

Feedback

Someone said just recently that you should go back to the same place time and again as you just don't know what it will be like second third or forth time and you may get a shot that is Just Great. I will put the first photo up off this tree so you can compare them if you like.
