Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken on the banks of Lake Bonney, Near Barmera in South Australia.

Time

I took this photo at 7 pm on a beautiful summer night.

Lighting

The lighting was provided by mother nature herself. You can't ask for better than that. We stood there in awe as the colour scheme went from amazing to stunning.

Equipment

Nikon D7000. 55-300mm kit lense @55mm. F9. 1/320 sec. No other equipment was used

Inspiration

We were travelling around the area with my children when we saw the colours of the sunset coming out more and more. We pulled over and stayed there until the sun had set. The bird life around the area is also stunning and never fails to impress. The whole Fruit triangle area has some beautiful spots to get inspiration from the great Murray river to the abundant wildlife.

Feedback

The area is studded with beautiful scenery and wildlife. There is no shortage of opportunities to get a great shot from anywhere you look. Some of the architecture in the area lends itself to being part of a great photo as well. I would get out and look for somewhere special. It might not look so good at the time but keep in mind the changing aspects of the sun. Also think about the weather. If it's going to be a fine day thenext day, the odds are its going to be a nice sunset.
