Surfers and trainers gather at the beach to surf and to learn surfing. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Group of Monuments of 7th and 8th century at Mahabalipuram is nestled on the Coromandel Coast of Bay of Bengal. Which also makes it one of important Surfing destinations of India there are 5to 6 different Surfing destinations in India and Mahabalipuram is one of well known and serious place to practice. There are also Surfing schools here and surf boards are also made and sold here by Mumu surf school. Every year Surfing competition also takes place. Due to which Surfing is gaining popularity and is practiced by many.
