Location
This photograph was taken at Alona Beach, Panglao, Bohol, Philippines during our vacation to go sight seeing around the place. We were walking around the shore till we found this lovely spot.Time
I am an avid sunset photo snapper and make it a point to take shot of the sunset whenever and wherever we go. This was taken at around 5:30 PM while we were just playing around waiting for the sun to completely set.Lighting
I try to catch as much details from everything around as well as the sunset without trying to really over expose or under expose the shot unless I'm really after those lovely yellow hues and silhouettes. But when the sky is bright and colorful with a lot of details all around, a good balance of playing around with the elements is nice.Equipment
I had taken this using an Olympus OMD EM 10, a Samyang fisheye lens set at f/22 3.5mm 2sec. ISO 100 and a Benro tripod.Inspiration
Nature has always been an inspiration to admire your surroundings. And when the still waters reflected the surroundings so wonderfully, I just took the shot.Editing
Fortunately I did not have to do any post processing for the photograph. It's the one in a thousands of photographs I've taken where things just seemed to be as I envisioned it to be.In my camera bag
I used to just bring my Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4 prime lens, with my Panasonic 14mm f2.5 pancake lens and my Samyang fisheye 7.5mm f3.5 lenses with me, but nowadays I have removed the fisheye and the pancake lens and exchanged them with a Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 pro and Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 pro lenses. Those and an extra battery pack in case I go crazy with the shutter button.Feedback
Since I am not formally a photographer and am just a hobbyist, the best advice I could probably offer is, play around with the surroundings, find a point of reference, don't rush, connect with nature, lose yourself in the moment of capturing the photograph and the moment. Still waters are always a magical sight when capturing landscapes and clouds are definitely essential it emphasizing drama.
