Behind The Lens

Location

Falkland Scotland. Me and my husband visited the scenes from the TV series The Outlander.

Time

It was early evening. late afternoon. We had been driving for hours when we got there but wanted to make most of the light as we where continuing our journey to the North the next morning.

Lighting

The natural light was close to perfect. Not much sun and not much clouds.

Equipment

I used my Canon 5DsR. I'm fairly new at photography.

Inspiration

The big wall and the aggressive look of this type of buildings.

Editing

Actually not much has been done to this photo. I converted it to B&W as I think it gives it a more aggressive impression. I might have played around a bit with contrast too.

In my camera bag

When we travel I try to take my Canon 5DsR and some prime lenses. But I usually opt for a Tamron 24-300 as it's lighter to carry.

Feedback

The one thing I learned from others is if you squat down and look up the object looks more dominating. :)
