Behind The Lens

Location

I took this at the Woodburn Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival about 5 or 6 miles east of Woodburn, Oregon.

Time

This picture was shot at 4:48 p.m. on April 4, 2016.

Lighting

I love taking pictures involving the sun and it's natural lighting.

Equipment

Well this is kind of embarrassing but I took this with a Motorola XT1031--my phone. I didn't use a flash.

Inspiration

For one my location. I love taking pictures of flowers and clouds and the combination was too good to pass up. It had been over cast earlier so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to quickly snap a few shots.

Editing

I shot this in HDR and touched it up a bit too bring out some of the color more. I try to keep it simple.

In my camera bag

I'm new to this whole photography business. When I do pack a camera (either a Canon Rebel T1i or Canon SX160) I use a 70-300mm (I think--I don't know all the photography jargon)

Feedback

If you like to have clouds on your pictures then it all depends on the weather. I think landscape lighting when the sun is high in the sky is best, but that's just my opinion. Of course it depends what you're after. A lot of photographers get photographer passes and can go into the fields at sunrise. Sometimes you just have to be patient to get the right shot tho.
