Behind The Lens

Location

I enjoy hiking, and this time me and my family were at Forest Falls, Ca. the day was cold and foggy, but we enjoyed every minute of it! specially me, taking tons of pictures...

Time

It was around 1 pm and the fog was still around, on and off with some moments of full sunshine. It was a great opportunity to take plenty of pictures.

Lighting

I wanted to capture the feeling of being around a foggy day, in nature and in daylight! It was a warm/cold feeling being surrounded by tall trees, dense fog and a waterfall

Equipment

I use a Nikkon D3100. This particular picture was taken at 1/500 sec, f/11,18 mm and ISO at 280

Inspiration

I love nature, and every opportunity I get, I pack up and head to the forest, I know that by being outside, I can always fing some great opportunity to shoot great pictures! This time I happen to go over 3000 ft up the mountain and enjoy the view and capture some.

Editing

The picture has been post-processed using Photoshop C6

In my camera bag

When I am ready to go out and take pictures, y bag is ready with my Nikon D3100, A couple of lenses: 18-50mm and 50-200mm,I also carry a small 15" and a 42" tall tripod, as well as some lens wipes and an extra battery

Feedback

I have found that my best pictures have been taken early morning or late during the day, almost at sunset, the sun is notso harsh and the sahadows play a key role in the picture composition.
