Location
This pic of the Five Towers mountain group was taken in the Dolomites, Italy.Time
At the sunrise.Lighting
I thought to use a big stopper filter to immortalize the movement of the clouds in that way, as a fire that is moving in the sky at the first lights of the day. That movement of the clouds brings the eye of the observer to the main subject, the Five Towers.Equipment
I used a Nikon D810 camera, a Nikon 14-24 mm f/2.8g, a big stopper Lee SW 150 and a Manfrotto 190x tripod.Inspiration
Nothing particular. When I decide to take shots in a location I just choose a good composition and often when I walk around the mountains I don't have expectations about the lights and the type of sky cause the weather is often unpredictable. So...these clouds were like a... surprise.Editing
Yes I do always a long creative post processing. I like to point out lights, shadows, colours, and make my landscapes like a fairy worlds. In my camera bag
My camera, my wide angle, my 70-200 mm f/4 lens, filters and my tripod.Feedback
I think that who would like capture a sky like this, with this light, should look at the weather forecasts and go shooting when after a thunderstorm or immediately after a period of cloud cover, in a morning or evening when the clouds are going away.
