In many of the larger European cities you will find pedestrian bridges crossing various bodies of water that are host to thousands of "locks of love"... a happy couple buys a lock and has initials or names engraved or written on them and then place the lock on the bridge to keep their hearts locked together for always. This is one crossing the Siene in Paris, before city officials decided to have it removed.
