Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in our garden. I waited and followed the little critter until he landed.

Time

It was early afternoon on a beautiful Summers day in UK.

Lighting

It was a Summers day, the lighting was bright and glaring so it was fortunate I caught this hover fly in the shade.

Equipment

This was shot on a Sony DSC-H400, no tripod, hand held.

Inspiration

The hover fly was a good size and hovered aimlessly from flower to flower. I followed him determined to catch him.

Editing

The colour was good and picture was clear so I only needed to crop to get him alone in the frame.

In my camera bag

I have a small camera bag that holds my camera, a mini 6 inch tripod, a plastic bag and a camera wipe.

Feedback

If you want to capture a small insect, you need to be patient and you must know where they are other wise you'll be searching your garden for ever. It's usually by change, that you see a tiny insect that is easy to photograph.
