This photo was a surprise to me. I was walking the beach in Oso Flaco, CA trying to get long exposures of the ocean with the sunset in the background and just wasn't having any luck with how I wanted them to turn out and gave up. As soon as I lost all hope, I turned around to looked towards the mountains and the sky had the most beautiful colors and texture, as if out of a painting. I instantly set my tripod down and took the shot.
