Location
This photo was taken at a small beach known as Bonsai Rock in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. A friend and I like to climb up these huge rocks that are on that beach, especially because of the beautiful view of the sunsets.Time
This was taken in the evening. That is usually the time I like to head out there. Lake Tahoe produces some of the most beautiful sunsets I've laid eyes on.Lighting
This particular place gives amazing "golden hour" lighting as well and background lighting for silhouette pictures.Equipment
I used my canon 6D with a 24-105 mm lens. My tripod had just broken so I had to use one of the higher rocks as a tripod.Inspiration
My friend was jumping around from rock to rock which looked cool to me so I figured if it looks cool to the naked eye, I can only imagine what it will look like on camera. I wanted to show others what I was seeing, from my point of view.Editing
I did, I used light room to make the image a little more dynamic; meaning, the blacks blacker, and the colors more vibrant. In my camera bag
I usually carry my 4 lenses, 2 camera bodies (6D and sl1), my memory cards, my laptop (since I can't wait to edit and share my photos when I get a cool one), my tripod in its own carrier bag, an external flash, and a flashlight since I like to go out and shoot later in the evenings.Feedback
Honestly, just have fun messing with the settings until you find the perfect setting for the image you have in your head. I messed with the settings a ton, especially and the sun was setting more. Also, if you don't get it the first time around, keep trying, that's the only way to get better at your skill.
