Location
This picture was taken in a reserve located in Montemor-o-Velho- Portugal. It was a haven for bird watching, in front of a lake, and had already seen some night herons. After some waiting this exemplary flew in front of me and only had time to take a picture. It was a very cloudy day and the light was not the best to take a moving picture so fast. Luckily I had a machine with a high iso which allowed me to use a very high shutter speed.Time
The photo was taken early in the morning, around 6:00 amLighting
In this case to achieve a good light I had to increase the iso to 1000, in order to achieve good light and a large shutter speedEquipment
Nikon d7100 Tamron 150-600mm f/5.0-6.3 Af SpInspiration
This is a place I usually go to shoot. My idea was to photograph birds in flight. Although not waiting for night herons. This was a unique opurtunidade for this photo. In the following days I could not watch any more night heronEditing
I used the ligthroom to control contrast and brightness of the rawIn my camera bag
I usually have in my bag the nikon d7100, the lens tamron 150-600, a wide angle lens and a 55-200. I also have a camouflage, a tripod and a mono-footFeedback
For nature photography the secret is to get up early, be camouflaged and lots of patience
