Location
This photo was taken inside a wedding barn with dim lighting. I climbed on top of a rickety stairwell platform.Time
I took this on a beautiful July evening in Texas.Lighting
It was a very dimly lit barn; however, natural light was coming in several windows.Equipment
This shot was captured with my Nikon 3200, 18-55mm lens. I also had my assistant hold a reflector disk near the nearest window. It caused the natural evening light to bounce off and on to the floor underneath the couple. What can I say? It worked great!Inspiration
I was hoping to catch a "cute" but staged, loving picture from this empty stairwell. I got the better kind! Spontaneous!Editing
I did utilize Lightroom to smooth a few hard edges, but otherwiseIn my camera bag
I carry a compartmentalized backpack. I carry the camera body (because that's just the brilliant thing to do), a mobile battery charger along with another battery. I keep my fav' lenses in it. The 18-55mm, 55-200mm and my 50mm lenses. Another SD card for giggles, then top it off with a small notepad and pencil to record my favorite when's, where's and why's!Feedback
Advise for a similar shot? One word, folks! Spontaneity, baby! I had the camera setting that I wanted and had just reached the top, when I looked down and captured that shot. There was no planning!
