This shot was taken from Battery Park NY. My family and I had joined some long time friends in Virginia and drove up to Manhattan for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We had this planned for about a year. We stayed in Manhattan, not far from Times Square. We took in many sites and tried many restaurants. The day after the parade, we had walked all over NYC. We decided to jump in a cab(2 actually) and go try to get the last ferry over to Ellis and Liberty Islands. Upon arriving, I noticed the sun was setting quickly and I hoped I could make it to a clear enough area to grab a few shots of the sunset. I had both my Canon and LG phone in hands as I ran like crazy towards the water. This is the result of my love of nature and all her beauty, with Lady Liberty's silhouette gracing the horizon. New York City never disappoints.Time

Plan out your photo op. I was lucky to grab this. I would have gone the whole trip without a decent sunset photo. Timing is everything.
